Community Based Instruction Field Trip (Oct 2026)

On Oct 20th, 2026, APTS held its largest off-site field trip in the 25 years since beginning operation. Our Stafford campus organized for 70+ students to visit Snead's Farm while accompanied by staff and caregiver chaperones while they got to experience the site's attractions. Students enjoyed the hayride, petting farm animals, picking pumpkins, playing on swings and slides, and most importantly, having fun being kids!

APTS may offer our students the opportunity to attend CBI trips, Community Based Instruction, as part of our Transition curriculum. APTS is dedicated to supporting students as they chart a path to success through educational, behavioral, therapeutic, transitional, and vocational services.

CBI Trips aim to provide students with a successful transition process beyond their time at APTS. Each student practices their level of skill mastery and generalization through a variety of tasks and directed assessments. This may include classroom simulations, life skills labs, and CBI Trips.

At APTS' core, our mission is to improve student independence and quality of life. Our students prepare for life beyond our classrooms through targeted instruction and generalization of daily living skills through a variety of experiences like classroom simulations, life skill stations, and opportunities like this off-site community experience to ensure a scaffolded approach to successful transition and integration into their communities.
