Planting This Year’s School Garden!
Recently, students were finally able to plant seeds in the school garden!
After our building closures last year, the school gardens were left unable to be tended. Many expressed how much they missed the opportunity to be out in the yard, seeding, weeding, planting, watering and enjoying their time with one another outside of the classroom.
Not only does the school garden make for a day of fun, it promotes positive habits such as: healthy food choices, responsibility, self-awareness, confidence, and the ability to integrate the garden to various subjects and lessons.
With the help of the compost donation from Dominion Energy last year, as well as our students and staff who will care for the garden, we are anticipating a beautiful and bountiful harvest!
