School Schedule Change for 2021

UPDATES AND CHANGES

Out of an abundance of caution and based upon current COVID-19 metrics in our region:

• All APTS students will continue to access their learning virtually, through January 29, 2021. 
• APTS students choosing to return to in-person learning on February 1, 2021 will resume full day in-person instruction from 8:10 am to 3:15 pm.
• Additionally, APTS campus staff will continue to work remotely.  Administrative staff will return to buildings on January 21, 2021. All staff will return to buildings on January 25, 2021.
•  

APTS remains committed to making 100% virtual learning available to families who choose to continue receiving virtual instruction for their child after January 29, 2021.

APTS’ decision to delay the return to in-person learning was not made lightly and is intended to further protect the health and safety of our students, staff and communities.  We ask that all APTS stakeholders take precautions seriously so we can have a safe return. It should be noted that this schedule is subject to change based on evolving environmental conditions and input from students, families, staff, and counties. 

COVID-19 REPORTING SYSTEM

During this time, we ask that staff and parents continue to immediately report any COVID-19 symptoms, confirmed/probable cases and close contacts if they occur.

• Parents and students should report via the COVID-19 Reporting System on the APTS website or the dedicated phone voicemail service at 202-603-1530.
• APTS staff are asked to report directly to their supervisors/school nursing team.

UPDATED REOPENING PLAN OF ACTION

The updated Reopening Plan of Action includes more detailed information and can be found on the APTS website. Additions/adjustments have been made in the following sections: “At a Glance: Modified Schedule”, “Modified Schedules: Schedule and Distance Learning”, “Appendix F: APTS Response to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.” You will continue to be notified of any updates and changes as they take place.
