Friendly February: Daily Actions to Connect With Others and Spread Kindness

Action for Happiness has released their February calendar and this month’s theme is about reaching out to others and being friendly. There can be cultural emphasis on “new year, new me” mentalities, and while self improvement is a good thing, the truth of life is that problems can remain. We need each other more than ever right now. 
This month let’s focus on reaching out to connect with others and being a good friend / colleague. Acts of kindness and connection ripple out. Raise the vibration of yourself, your classroom, and office. Connections with others also generate happiness hormones in our brain (serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin), and are good for brain health.  For February let’s switch from, “keep calm and carry on”, to “keep yourself calm and carry others on”. We got this!
