Happy August! APTS Counselors share Action for Happiness’ August calendar and its theme is Altruistic August.

In our world today, so much is directing us to think about ourselves, our well-being, our stresses, and our successes. Self is foundational but let’s not forget that altruism is also a great source of happiness. Giving to others, sharing with others, uplifting others, encouraging others, supporting others, spreading positivity to others, cheering on others, showing gratitude to others, giving thanks for others can quite literally modify your brain chemistry (and emotional states) for the better.
