Claire Gallagher

A proud “JMU Double Duke”, Claire first earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in Behavior Analysis and a minor in criminal justice, before going on to earn her master’s degree in Psychological Sciences with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from James Madison University. She currently holds credentials as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst, Certified Dementia Practitioner, and is MTSS Educator Certified. 

 

Her applied interests include organizational behavior management and the use of behavior analysis applied to quality assurance and multi-tiered systems of support for both student and staff, trauma informed and neurodiverse behavior analytic intervention methodology and the integration of Applied Behavior Analysis as a foundational methodology related to curriculum, design, instruction and assessment of prerequisite and learning readiness skills, as well as programming for generalization of academic and behavioral skills across environments. 

Her current and past areas of research include the use of ABA in novel environments including Memory Care, the effect of caregiver coaching and interaction training on parent/teacher/sibling and client relationships and behavioral outcomes, and the use of bio-feedback technology as a self-management strategy for automatically maintained physiological behavior and responses of pilots in flight.  

 

In her role as Assistant Director of Quality Assurance and MTSS, Claire is responsible for overseeing the MTSS Department at APTS, which serves to ensure alignment of strategic planning goals, program development, and training across all other school-based departments. She serves as the District MTSS team director, which provides a system of assessment of organizational health and efficacy in the provision of quality programming to students and training for staff and faculty. Claire supports in the development and implementation of special enrichment programs for students and helps to provide community education on the mission, vision, and practices of APTS to community stakeholders.
